Raya oh Raya

Berlalu lah sudah ramadhan,
Sebulan berpuasa,
Tiba syawal kita rayakan,
Dengan rasa gembira..
Lalalalalalalalala.....

Enjoy singing hah? So, i was so excited to celebrate raya this time because it is my first time getting chance to experience "balik raya" driving from KL to Teluk Intan. It was a smooth traffic on that morning. I started my journey on 7.30am via Bukit Tagar Highway. Refused to used LATAR highway since the federal road at Sekinchan - Sabak Bernam was still under construction. It gonna be super busy and so many potholes plus bumpy in some areas. Alhamdulillah, i managed to use the new WCE highway linked from Sabak Bernam to Hutan Melintang. The road was so flawless. I really excited to use it since my previous company was also taking part in this WCE construction. hehehehe. Here are some photos of new WCE completed highway:

Tolls are not yet ready. Yahoo. Ride for free.

:)

There were only few vehicles on the road during my journey so i took the chance to speed my car up to 140km/h until i got vibration on my car's steering. HAHAHA so funny. Therefore, I slowed down and just enjoy the green scenery of oil palms plantation around there. Ahhhh so refreshing.

When i was at home, there were no such "resting" term in our dictionary. Actually, i had listed 4 types of Kuih Raya to be made ie Almond London,German Cookies,Spicy Salted Egg Cornflakes and Wonder Cheese but only got to made 3 of them excluding the wonder cheese. Not enough time to do so. I already bought my ingredients for these kuih raya from Bake with Yen, Taman Megah. http://bakewithyen.net/ . It is the nearest bakery shop to my house at KL.

What i like about this shop is it supplies so many ingredients for baking. There were also cookies jar sold there. The prices are cheaper than Teluk Intan rate. For example, I can get the cookies jar for only RM1.15 compared to Teluk Intan which is RM2. HUHH.. I spent almost half an hour in the shop searching for the ingredients. But, you have to note that there were no plastic bags provided at the shop. So, you have to bring your own groceries bag. As it was my first time to be there, I was freak out and luckily they provided used boxes to the customers to put all the purchased items. It is a good conduct in order to reduce the plastic usage rather than charged RM0.20 to the customers for the plastic bags like the  other shopping malls do. As this shop is located at super busy area Taman Megah, it is hard to get a car park you know! So, dont go there alone. Make sure you have your driver to wait  in the car while you go shopping for your ingredients. Just my 2 cents lah.

With proud, i show you my "Kuih Raya":

Almond London

Spicy salted egg cornflakes

German Cookies

Look  yummy right? I felt so delighted because the guests really like the Kuih Raya. Oh not to be forgotten my sister and my father also made some and of course their kuih raya got attention to!!

Kapit Gulung

Tart Nenas
Rempeyek Kacang Tanah
Cornflakes Madu
Everybody enjoy the Kuih Raya especially my niece. She ate and ate the Kapit, Cornflakes Madu and German cookies and tart so much.Anyone who wants the recipe, you can just comment below okay?

But, my happiness is not last longer with these Kuih Raya. Something tragic happened in the next few days. Something that can lead people to get angry and i lost my tempered too!!
